4月25日 On the way to my life..
-- Iyanla Vanzant
9月21日 Kovu's Magic Yesterday, teh newscaster read that today's students carries much heavier backpacks and that this causes the younger ones back problems. I agree! mine probably weights about ten-twenty pounds. I not only have my just purchased three-ring binder, I have three extremely heavy textbooks, plus a dictionary and thesaurus paperbacks. If I had to haul an additional book, I would have to get one of tose totes-on-wheels to pull behind me.

The last few days have been hectic. Rough drafts, editing, final paper. Three tests, one online. And Algebra! What in the world does this have to do with Speech and Communication?? Ack! I felt good going in, but my brain went blank! Guess that's my defense mechenism kicking in. I had to pray on it.. It's going to take nothing but divine help. And sheer determination on my part. I'm going to pull a "C" out of that class. Watch what I tell you!
I've missed walking with my sacred animal. When I got home, I went straight for his leash. His fluffy tail waved furiously as I hooked it to his collar.
Look, shrimp! Daddy's been talking you out. He told me so.
And you got me. And you and that look! You know how that bothers me. You made me feel so guilty!
I know, Poochy. That's why I dropped every thing so we could go. (Kovu snuggled closer. He liked that answer.) I was tense and irritalbe. I was on that "superwoman" treadmill, the one where you're doing and doing and doing. Gotta go here, gotta do that, and I had to stop, slow down from all those "gottas". Somethign like gettiny my nailds done made me uptight. All the chatter from the technicians wound me up tighter than my Timex I knew what would ease my mind .... Kovu, the Wonder Dog!!
We started out and, almost instantly my shouders relaxed. The temp was in the high 70s, absolutely lovely. Kovu did his usual "sniff and
sprinkle .. "
I knew you were up to something. (Scowling at her mischievous pup.)
No! You've already got critters anyway! (TJ found Kovu's latest kill in the yard the other day.)
Hush! I can' t help you! (Kovu sulks) It was fantastic walking. My limbs loosened up. I smiled a genuine smile. I pranced along with him. On the stretch back, Kovu smiled at me and I stopped to bury my face in his neck. I held him and kissed him when I glanced up and this little guy, riding on his moped, almost broke his neck staring at us. I guess I wasn't politically correct, but whatever!
Even chamomile tea isn't as holistically soothing as touching my dog. I've been disconnected from earth and animal. I needed to commune with both.
<Big wide Grin> How in the world did this little character get under my skin like that??
